• The liturgy committee helps prepare our community of St Charles to carry out the Church’s plan of worship. The members represent different areas of expertise. The committee meets the first week of the month. To serve well requires a good understanding of sacred liturgy, how it evolved, and how it stays fresh.

  • Once a month, from September through April,  St Charles Parish celebrates Family Mass at the 8:30 a.m. Liturgy. The Family Mass Committee plans the liturgies. What makes this different than the other liturgies is that it follows the guidelines for a children’s liturgy. A children’s liturgy, can have one first reading and the gospel is taken from Lectionary for Masses with Children.   The readings have been shortened so they are easier for children to understand. The children participate in all aspects of the liturgy, from carrying up our story polls, greeting the people as they enter, reading the readings of the day as well as the general intercessions.

  • Church Environment Committee

The committee’s purpose to express the mood of the liturgical cycle of the church through the use of decorations: flowers, candles, fabrics, etc. The focus is on liturgical and seasonal elements to enhance our worship space.
