Art in Action
Headquartered in Menlo Park, Art in Action is a national program that provides exposure to the arts for students in grades K-8. Art in Action now reaches more than 70,000 students and trains more than 6,000 volunteer docents in 500+ schools across the country.
To supplement art acttivities provided in the classroom, St. Charles deploys the Art in Action program with the support of more than 100 volunteer parents each year. Volunteers are needed to serve as program coordinators, docents, helpers, set-up/clean-up, "art hangers," and materials organizers.
The program exposes students to the visual arts, specific artists, and varied media such as water color, clay, chalk/charcoal, mosaic, and collage. Students experience hands-on work with color, perspective, contour, dimension, shading, and composition.
Art in Action provides joy for students and parents alike!
