At St. Charles School, there are two homework clubs, one for grades 3-5 and one for grades 6-8. Credentialed teachers facilitate both. During Homework Club, students may receive small group instruction, or one-on-one individualized help, or spend time going beyond assignments into extension activities—working independently or together with classmates.
Creative Robotics Lab is an afterschool program open to students in grades 3-8. Managed by parent volunteers, Robotics engages students in a variety of hands-on, exploratory, and inventive projects. Parents model inclusive behavior and respect for all ability levels. Students who participate are encouraged to be creative thinkers and active listeners, and to share ideas with others with respect and kindness. Students design and build two or more robotics projects throughout the year.
New for 2011-2012 is the Drama Club. Open to students in grades K-8, this new parent-led club will provide instruction and practice in all aspects of producing a school play, including stage and set development, acting, singing, and ensemble work. Stay tuned for news about the spring production!
